Transitions
If you’ve noticed, you need to find some better leisure activities, but my blogging output has been down recently. Sort of a convergence of busyness: wrapping up my internship, hosting the inlaws, packing for the US, and, on top of it all, popping off to Ireland for four nights starting yesterday.
Ireland should be grand. We’re touring, with our two bestest St. Columba friends, the Galway region of Ireland then doing Dublin in two days. There’s sure to be plenty of folk music, picturesque scenery, B&B excitement, and of course, Guinness (actually, I’m more of a lager guy myself, but I plan to work on that.)
Earlier this week, however, we had a lovely wee jaunt up Scotland’s East coast, stopping in Anstruther for the famous award winning fish and chips (really are tasty), enjoyed a walk in sunny Crail, and headed up the coast for a fantastic night including dinner with cousin Katie and Sam near St. Andrews.
My parents went to “uni” at St. Andrews and were married in the university chapel, but the town would have won my heart even despite the fact that without it I wouldn’t exist (not sure that logically follows, but whatever).
Megan and I also bit the bullet and bought a gorgeous print at the Crail Gallery. It’s not this one (ours is much cooler, of course) but is the same idea.
(Image “Custom House” not exactly used by permission but mainly just to spread the word about Susie’s awesome work. We met Susie’s husband David, who was really great and definitely want to give major cred to their shop.) P.S. If anyone knows a good framer in ATL let me know.
While I’m putting in pictures, here’s a few more…
The cute couple at Crail.
The fam putting with the St. Andrews Old Course behind.
I’ve got a few posts bubbling, but no promises when they’ll be up. I may not check email while in Ireland, so apologies if spam ends up on the blog. Just think of it as a reminder of our sinful condition.
