Run well, Adam - heal well, Megan.
Re call process - sent most of my things electronically - was in coversation with several congregationss..the seminary is the ONLY place I sent hard copy stuff (other than sermon tapes or
dvds) b/c as I recall they asked for them.
And rest well after the race - will think of you and several others I know running the half and full races.

Thanks, folks. Yes, to Kerri -- hope they don't run out of water again! And perhaps the most necessary part of any race: enough porta potties before the start.

Realize that PNC's generally take quite a bit of time to act. It can take a couple months before they call you and want to meet with you.

I feel rather fortunate. My PIF was sent to two congregations. One called me within a week and lined up an interview. That went well, and they lined up a neutral pulpit. Then I was invited to preach in the church. It all went well, I we received the call. The whole process took two months from mid-March to mid May. We moved to the manse by the end of Jund.

It probably makes a difference that I was willing (and wanting) to go to a smaller, rural congregation.

The call was made clear on Pentecost. I was right in the middle of my class in receiving a call - half had calls previous to me, and half afterwords.

It seems to me that the process of seeking a call helps us to be truly ready to receive that call. But of course, it's not really the finish line. It's just getting the number and finding the starting place.

Good luck with the race tomorrow. Hope Megan is recovering well. I had my wisdom teeth out a couple years ago, and it is not one of my fondest memories.
