Paltry Posts and PC(USA) General Assembly Possibilities

The posts have been paltry recently, but next week everything will change. I’ll be attending the Presbyterian Church (USA) General Assembly meeting in Minneapolis and blogging for The Presbyterian Outlook.

I’ll put links to my work here. I also have a few other writing pieces that may come out next week to which I’ll link as well. So, apologies for the past week, but good things come to those who wait.  Also, for you non PC(USA) people, sorry for a week of very Presbyterian posts.  I’ll make it up to you at some point.

But if you are connected to or interested in the PC(USA) General Assembly: What would you like to see covered by the Presbyterian Outlook blogger?  What should I consider, discuss, debate, relate, rehash or refry?

Update: see my first (and pre-GA) post at the Outlook website here.

Some light-hearted dispatches from the exhibition hall. Craziest give-aways, best looking booths, etc. Although that might ruin your perceived objectivity…

  2. too funny Josh – the first thing that came to mind was the exhibition hall too! I remember one year the obvious division of “camps” was ever so clear by the layout of the various booths. I think that has changed though

A sense of the spirit – Spirit? What is the vibe or where is the energy? What does worship sound/look/feel like? Connection between worship and the mission of the Assembly? A sense of the rituals being played out – in traditional and new ways? I’ve never attended a GA – I read reports, look at photos/videos, try to get a sense. How is it like/unlike a homecoming? The beginning of a separation agreement? What’s the Good News/where is the Good News in the gathering?

Nothing’s too tough for you, eh, Adam? Peace – and the writing muses – be with y ou.

  4. Blog about the crowd, the commissioners, the deglates. Link from the podium. Others are covering that view.

Please! It is obvious we are not able to stop this fighting year after year while our church bleeds to death. Is there any way to re-establish the PCUS? If the evangelicals have a place we can land when we jump it would be a lot better world for everybody.
