Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota is hosting what should be a pretty sweet conference November 9-10, 2012. I’m looking forward to attending. You should too. It’s officially the 8th Annual Missional Church Consultation, and this year’s topic On the Road to Emmaus: The Missional Church and Global Media Cultures.
Several stellar leaders in media, religion, and culture will be speaking (J. Kwabena Asamoah-Gyadu, Elizabeth Drescher, Mary Hess, Rex Miller Jolyon Mitchell). Workshop topics include areas particularly of interest to pastors and church leaders, with hands-on new media options at a nearby church.
I’m especially looking forward to meeting Elizabeth Drescher, with whom I’ve corresponded in many ways over the last few years, including an interview that led to a few features in Drescher and Anderson’s great new book, Click 2 Save: The Digital Ministry Bible.
I attended Luther’s missional church conference last year and can attest it’s well organized and has a great vibe to it. In short: it’s totally worth your time. Plus, it has one of the best live tweet feeds of any conference I’ve attended.
Here ends the blog shout-out. Hope to see you at Luther in November.
